Take This Land

Take this land This land that shines Indelible permanent Entwined upon your soul Take this land Weathered but unbeaten Sky that shimmers to billowing clouds Or blanket grey in sullen days Take this land Unexpected warmth of forgotten summer sun Winter's snow that lays virgin silent Until lost in spring's thaw Take this land Gales that angry rage And shaken trees that sway To bend in rampant storm Take this land With moistened sod Fields of silver dew Meadows ablaze to colour Take this land Rolling hills and rugged coast Mountains majestic surround This land a beauty unbound Take this land Take this land if you wish For you can never Take this land from me _____________________________ There is much to admire in the landscape of Britain. And nothing to ever tire from.
