Leaf Fall We are the leaf fall, Fading to russet And earthen brown. Where wilted yellow Dew-lit sparkled And frost spattered. The lain leaf, Gathered to mulch. We are the leaf fall, Sodden and soaked, Cloaked and fogged. Autumn hung heavy, As sunlight darkens. Nourishment in death, Forgotten then reborn. An end and beginning. _________________________________ Autumn's here. Let the colour dance begin. The leaf fall. Vibrancy before the sparseness of winter.
