Sea-Storms of the Soul
Where the waves break,
Then swallow me whole.
As shingle scrapes
To crush my bones.
Where the currents run,
Then weaken resolve.
As tides pull and push,
To injure my soul.
Where the storms rage,
Then toss me high and low.
As the wind fervent builds,
To extinguish hope.
But now at last
the sea-storms consoled,
A haven found,
a harbour for my soul.
