The Tree

The Tree We take for granted The tree that stands Silent upright constant Until it is gone Splintered by wind & storm Each time you pass Watch for colours in change Remark upon life that endures Ever constant ever here In resolute defiance Remark how it remains Steadfast unfelled But for how long We are all here a finite time, we stand firm in life, ever present. But as the trees will one day be brought down and only then regretfully missed, so too will we fall. Take nothing or no one for granted. Appreciate what you have. And who you are with. We are all trees in the forest of our lives.
