The Waiting Time

The Waiting Time I stood in the waiting time Nothing moved except time And seconds were lost to minutes That threatened hours and days I stood in the waiting time Aging with each tick of life While the heart beat continued its finite journey And the wait went on I stood in the waiting time Futility and frustration accompanied Each moment and thought forgotten To the passage of wasted time I stood in the waiting time A realisation that time spent to wait in thought And views of beauty splendid Was not time wasted at all I stood in the waiting time And time passed unnoticed, forgotten For life was here and the moment now I stood in the waiting time And did not want the waiting to end
