Consumed, Content

Consumed, Content I sensed it creeping slowly Like the first rays of sunrise That subtle warmed earth and flesh I felt it trickling through veins Like the muffled flow of winter streams Hidden beneath fresh falls of snow I let it beat within, gaining strength Like the crash and crack of emerald waves On an endless pebbled beach And the senses overwhelmed And the feelings eager anticipated And it finally consumed me Happiness warmed my face And coursed through veins And in rhythm joined content With every beat of my joyful heart _____________________________ For #internationalhappinessday, a poem about how happiness can appear unannounced and entirely consume and bring utter contentment.
