The Crossing

The Crossing Stay where you are The known, the familiar The homely, the everyday Immured in experiences unchanged Stay where you are Rooted to the solidity of now Of certainty and presence Reticent to change Stay where you are Yet the waters swirl and tantilise As you peer over the crossing To glimpse the unknown Hear its call, feel its pull Recondite and uncertain A sense of fear, Steadfast and reluctant to tread In steps small, wavering, unsteady But take those steps The crossing awaits _____________________________ Decisions are rarely made in the comfort of full knowledge. They often are based on expectation and hope, uncertainty. But sometimes the security of stability has to give way to the uncertainty of change. Unless we make that crossing, how can we know what awaits on the other side. Perhaps the other side will bring change that is positive.
