Of Night and Daylight

Of Night and Daylight The risen sun cast warming breath And chill hours were lost From the night's suffocating cloak Riven to skies of deepest blue And fear of darkness passed trembling To still calm joy of dawn As daylight placed its gentle hand On the shoulders of those who wept Silent, unheard into endless black Waiting for morning's rescue _____________________________ As dawn gives way to daylight, the blackened fears of night subside to hopeful, calming thoughts. Let the day begin without fear, but peace.
