I'm turning the clocks
Back to 2014.
Turning them back
To what might have been.
The world was different,
Brexit unknown.
Corona a beer from
A different time zone.
Trump was a figure
On reality TV.
Boris sat chuckling on
Have I Got News For Thee.
But the clock got stuck
With its little hand,
TikTok TikTok-ing
All over our
Shifting political sands.
Blowing in a direction
Veering far to the right.
So I'm turning the clocks
Back to 2014,
Resetting, restarting,
So history might,
Just might do its best
To do the right thing
And avoid this utter mess.
